TRADITIONAL HATHA YOGA
Our ''Traditional'' Hatha Yoga classes consisting of asanas inspired by B.K.S. Iyengar, Patanjali and other Ayurvedic philosophies offer a flowing, therapeutic practice. Focusing on strengthening not only the body, muscles, tendons and organ systems, but also the subtle universal energies of the body, mind, and spirit.
A quieting heart focused, stress relieving "Yoga Nidra" guided meditation inspires a calm, yet energized self-awareness and sense of pure, heartfelt joy!
GENTLE FLOW YOGA
YIN Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (Yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. These deep tissues form our joints. Holding postures for a longer period of time, from 3-5 minutes, effectively stretches these tissues allowing for deep tissue release and greatly improves joint flexibility. Longer holds also promote a mind-body-spiritual focus, which encourages a peaceful and tranquil mental balance.
Restorative Yoga "A restorative yoga sequence typically involves only five or six poses, supported by props that allow you to completely relax and rest. Held for 5 minutes or more, restorative poses include light twists, seated forward folds, and gentle backbends. Most restorative practices are based on the teachings of B.K.S.
